Support and comfort are at the heart of the Millbrook Luxor Classic. For the ultimate in response and reaction, this mattress uses over 1,000 pocket springs, each housed in their own fabric pocket. Unlike open-coil systems, this allows every spring to act independently of its neighbours and react individually to changes in weight and pressure. In addition, aside from being hand-nested, these intuitive coils are double-stacked. The upper layer disperses the weight of the body, while contouring to the spine and relieving the pressure from more angular areas, such as the hips, elbows, knees, and ankles. The lower layer is more resistant, creating a foundation of support and ensuring the mattress’ longevity.
Breathability and freshness
Fine English cotton is supremely breathable, helping to keep the sleeper at the ideal temperature throughout the night. A natural and biodegradable fibre, it boasts superb moisture-wicking properties. During the warmer months, this means that moisture is moved away from the body to naturally evaporate, creating a cooling effect. During colder weather, the mattress’ natural and sumptuous fillings trap pockets of warm air, keeping sleepers snug and comfortable, without overheating. To ensure its continuing freshness, the Millbrook Luxor Classic is fitted with four vents, helping to create an inhospitable environment for environmental allergens, such as dust mites, mildew, and fungal spores.
Firmness and longevity
To prevent ‘roll-off’ and ‘roll-out,’ the edges of the mattress are reinforced with rows of smaller pocket springs. However, to give these further support, the edges of the Millbrook Luxor Classic sport two rows of side-stitching. Sewn by hand, using traditional techniques reserved for only the finest mattresses. The most labour-intensive part of the crafting process, these help the mattress to retain its shape and firmness, ensuring years’ worth of superb support, comfort, and sleep.
